I thought it would be interesting to see what would happen if I used more complex knots in the knotted chain mail experiments I've been playing with. Doing straight rows is probably possible, but I think this is more interesting:
Knotted Chain-mail, tiled 3-loop Prolong Knots.
This is not the only pattern possible with the 3-loop Prolong Knot, but it's the most regular. Tilted at 45 degrees, it makes a herringbone pattern, but the edges are even more ragged. I have no idea whether this will ever make its way into anything I produce, but it was certainly fun to do.
