This is a small Mexican Fire Opal, tied in a 5-lead by 14-bight Turk's Head of 18K yellow gold. The wire is about 29 guage, and the stone is about a third of an inch wide. Click on the picture to change views. This is a preliminary fitting, to make sure the knot is the right size, hence it hasn't been polished or cleaned up, and there is no bail to hang it from.
